Analysis of Wavelength Conversion and Deflection Routing in Optical Burst Switched Network

چکیده
In Optical Network contention is one of the big problem. Contention occurs when more than one burst demand for same output wavelength channel in same time. Wavelength conversion and deflection routing are the methods to resolve contention in Optical Network. In this case of wavelength conversion if any contentions occur then one of the burst’s wavelength have to be changed from its current wavelength to another free wavelength channel. Another one is Deflection routing, in this case one of the contending burst is send in another route rather than primary route towards it’s destination. This paper is for investigating of the effect of wavelength conversion and deflection routing in Optical Burst Switched network, i.e. here comparison is made between these different contention resolution schemes using Queueing model.

Performance analysis of optical burst switched node with deflection routing
As the optical network evolves from static long haul connection provider to an adaptive and “smart” backbone solution, Optical Burst Switching (OBS) becomes an attractive scheme for its flexibility and efficiency. However, how to reduce data loss is a crucial issue in such an asynchronous and one way reservation system. In this paper, we study one contention resolution strategy in OBS networks:...

Photonic networks using Optical Burst Switching (OBS) emerged as an attractive choice for building the next generation Photonic Internet. In burst switched photonic networks, contentions caused by multiple bursts intending to use the same wavelength of the same link at the same time, remarkably increase burst dropping probability and degrade network throughput. As efficient contention resolutio...

Deflection Routing is a key technique to resolve contention in optical burst-switched networks. Considering three different deflection routing strategies, we investigate the influence of network topology and of burst length on network performance in terms of dropping probability. A promising option to raising busty interchange in system communication could be Optical Burst Switched (OBS) networks among scalable and support routing effective. The routing schemes with disputation resolution got much interest, because the OBS network is buffer less in character. Because the deflection steering can use limited optical buffering or actually no buffering thus the choice or de...
متن کاملOn the deflection routing in QoS supported optical burst-switched networks
deflection routing is enabled, optical buffers are necessary to solve the insufficient offset time problem. Another solution, which can alleviate buffering, is to lengthen offset time in the beginning. As previous work indicated, a burst with extra offset time has higher priority than that without extra offset time and quality-of-service (QoS) can be accomplished in this way. Therefore, we inve...
